WMExperts Expert Review

Motorokr T505 Speakerphone / FM Transmitter
Reviewed by George Ponder
Bluetooth headsets are a popular option but not everyone is comfortable with wearing the earpieces. If you are one of those cell phone users, you really need to take a hard look at Motorola’s MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth, in-car speakerphone. Not only is it a quality speakerphone, it also is a FM transmitter to allow you to feed music from your Bluetooth enabled MP3 Player to your car’s stereo. This is one of the better speakerphones on the market. Doubling as a wireless speaker phone for your cell phone and a FM transmitter for your Bluetooth enabled MP3 Player puts the T505 in an exclusive class.

StarStarStarStarStar Best Bluetooth to FM car kit on the market
User: Shannon Woodcock, May 23, 2008

Pros:  Works like a charm
Cons:  Internal spaker could be a bit louder but heck..you end up using FM and your cars stereo anyway

I got this baby from WM Experts two weeks ago.

It is SWEET. Up till now have been using the USB to mini stero plug to cassete tape adapter becase my vans stereo doesnt have a AUX input.

Pairing was a breeze. Its cool how it searches for a clear FM channel then annoinces it over the internal speaker. Speakerphone is very good, mic quality is good. Other parties can hear me fine. Does a great job of pausing the music...reading out the incoming callers phone #. Music quality is good. It wont impress the die hard audiophiles. But it saves me having to burn audio cds of my favorite music and/or using the crappy cassette deck adapter.

I let my brother borrow it. He drives a truck. MIC quality even in that noisy enviroment worked very well, hes ordering one soon.
StarStarStarStarStar Pretty Good / Decent Value

Pros:  Ease of Use, Unlimited Frequencies
Cons:  Seems to have lost transmission strength a little

I bought this hands-free device almost a year ago. I have been very satisfied with it so far. It has certainly lived up to the $130 I paid for it at the time.
Initial setup was simple. I probably couldve even figured it out without cinsulting the manual.
It has six buttons: Front: Talk, and play/pause. Sides: Two buttons to skip up or down through music playlist. Back: Bluetooth conection, and FM connection. Most have multi-function capabilities.
With one touch it will search for the next best frequency and announces it twice. Call and music sound quality is good. Voice (outgoing) quality is good as long as one realizes that it is still a speakerphone and the conversation needs to be controlled to account for the slight delay. Obviously everyone in the vehicle can hear the call well, and the microphone will pick up clear conversation from anywhere in the vehicle.
It will stay on for about half an hour, so jumping in a out of the vehicle for errands is no problem as far as dis/re-connecting.

Personally, I connect every time I get into the vehicle. I will usually have a music playlist going, but can turn off the FM transmitter with a "long press" of the FM button to listen to the regular vehicle radio. This still leaves the speaker enabled, both for calls and music. Switching between music and calls is seamless, but that may be the mobile device more than the handsfree.
Something I have done on occasion is play music for a bonfire or tailgating party. This works well, except that the Bluetooth and FM range is probably only about 25 yards.

All in all, its a great device even thouth it is old. It could be a great value.
